Text description provided by the architects. The house, located in Region II – Antofagasta, is composed by two volumes, public and private, connected through a large elevated glass bridge-corridor.
The site is characterized by a pronounced slope and existing boundary walls of different heights. This determined that the program would evolve according to different levels.
The volume with the bedrooms is located in the highest level and is cantilevered towards north direction. The lowest volume has two floors, of which the first locates the living room with a view to the north, the kitchen and dining room which are articulated and integrated through the staircase that acts at the same time as an dividing element.
The dining room is connected to a central patio through a large window. On the second floor, a second, more private, living room has direct access to the swimming pool.
The house is build mainly with glass and concrete, but also with latticework of native wood from the south of Chile.
